Railway Stations C » Carrickmines

Carrickmines, the sixth station out of the former DWWR mainline from Harcourt Street to Bray, which was very short sightedly closed in 1958. Luas line B, which has partly re-opened most of the rail line from Harcourt St is now been extended south to Bray, and construction work has already commenced at the former Carrickmines Station. These pictures were taken prior to this and show the typical DWWR station building, and even the then rare waiting room still standing on the down platform, now sadly demolished. Carrickmines also once had a water tower beside the station building on the up side of the line, but never saw if it was still intact.
