The 34 locomotives of the Irish Rail C Class, later C201 Class, were numbered C201-C234, and 201-234 respectively.

C231 stored by the Irish Traction Group.
226 under restoration by the Irish Traction Group.
227 stored at Waterford.
 

Irish Rail Liveries 1956-1995:  The (C)201 Class locomotives have of course carried numerous liveries during their 40 year career on Irish Rail, some experimental so I'll try and keep thing as simple as possible. As this class were long withdrawn before the time I began photographing Irish Rail I therefore only one a few images of my own to show.

CIE silver + flying snail logo (1956-1958)

CIE green with white waist band* + flying snail logo (1958-1964)

CIE black + broken wheel logo (1964-1969)

CIE black with yellow warning panels (1969-1969)*

CIE black & tan + broken wheel logo (1969-1973)

CIE black & orange 'Super Train' + broken wheel logo (1973-1987)

NIR blue + NIR logo (1987-1995)

*only applied to small number of locos
