Irish Rail 1970s archive gallery.

Here is a selection of images that I managed to obtain from an old recording I had of a one off RTE programme featuring Irish Railways. The archive footage appears to have been shot between 1977-1979, and shows many scenes that have long since changed or disappeared from the railway network. Images range from loco hauled trains in CIE 'SuperTrain' livery around the country, to some shots of the derelict Albert Quay yard Cork, and some unique images of the Harcourt St line, Dublin, as well as others.

As you might expect the quality isn't at its best, but hopefully they'll be a worth a view on what we have lost, or thankfully gained over the last 30 years since these views were taken on Irish Rail! Maybe some day someone will take the time and produce a DVD featuring these quality scenes for appreciation.
