Railway Stations K » Killraine

Killraine, Co.Wexford, is the first station north of Rosslare Harbour on the Dublin-Rosslare line. It opened with the GSWR line north to Wexford in 1883. The station, which appears to have had only one platform, closed in 1970. Sugar beet traffic however was loaded at a siding in the station until 1977, when beet traffic was concentrated to nearby Wellingtonbridge. Today, the single disused platform at Killraine survives, the station site is used for storage of engineering work.
