Ballyconnell, Co.Leitrim, is located on the Ballinamore to Belturbet section of the former Cavan & Leitrim narrow gauge line, which was constructed in the 1887, and was closed completely by CIE 1959. Ballyconnell retains its attractive two storey brick C&L station building, stone goods shed and water tower base. The station had up & down platforms, and there was a level crossing at the east end of the station.
