Moyvalley

Moyvalley, located on the main Dublin to Sligo line, between Enfield and Mullingar, was opened by the Midland Great Western Railway in September 1848, and was closed by CIE in June 1963. The station boasted up & down platforms, featuring the characteristic MGWR's raised/lower level sections. The single storey station building, typical of the type on the Mullingar line, and the signal cabin, were located on the down side of the line. Today, only the overgrown up platform remains, the rest of the station buildings have been demolished.
